I chose to make this song "through compose" which means no sections ever repeat. I learned that in my fancy music schoolin'. I also wanted to make it bass heavy and quite punishing. After I broke my clavicle in a bicycle accident, I was still looking for a title. Everyone kept asking "What happened to your wing"? My left arm was in a sling. I thought I should call it "Wing Breaker". However, there was a congruity in title structure being established. "(something) of the (something)". Meanwhile I had been toying with the idea of finding plane crash samples to fill out the end section. When I typed in "Breaking of the Wings" on google, I learned that it is an old tradition for new air force pilots to break their honorary wings in half and present one half to a loved one to keep them safe in battle. I thought it would be interestingly morbid to have the plane crash, against all hope and optimism, like I had crashed on my bike.
